Five Nights at Freddy's is a Horror Indie Game by Scott Cawthon.
Welcome to your new summer job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where kids and parents alike come for entertainment and food as far as the eye can see!
The robots' behavior has become somewhat unpredictable at night however, and it was much cheaper to hire you as a security guard than to find a repairman. From your small office you must watch the security cameras carefully. You have a very limited amount of electricity that you're allowed to use per night (corporate budget cuts, you know). That means when you run out of power for the night — no more security doors and no more lights! If something isn't right — namely, if Freddy Fazbear or his friends aren't in their proper places, you must find them on the monitors and protect yourself if needed!
Can you survive Five Nights at Freddy's?
When Scott decided to make the game, he submitted it to Steam Greenlight. He later uploaded a trailer to Youtube. On July 24, 2014, Scott released a demo on IndieDB. The full game was finally released on August 9, 2014 to Desura, a gaming website. It was accepted nine days later to Steam, and was released. The game is now on iOS and Andriod devices.
You are working in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria throughout the game, and are sitting in an office. You must use doors to keep all of the animatronics out. Using the camera is only nessecary for two animatronics: Foxy and Freddy. Looking at Pirate's Cove frequently will keep Foxy from sprinting towards your office. You must check the cameras for Freddy Fazbear on nights 3-7 to slow Freddy down. The only other time Freddy will come to your office is when the power goes out completely. As the game progresses, it becomes very diffcult to beat.

- During production, Scott stated that he had nightmares about the animatronic Bonnie the most.
- Foxy was not shown in the trailer for Five Nights at Freddy's. Instead, Bonnie was shown running.
- The iOS and Android versions have slightly harder and quicker gameplay, because of the file limits of the smaller devices.
